Watching that psychotic 3-year-old cosplay an 80s rock star in his lil' baseball cap and "bro" t-shirt (no doubt the chainsaw beside his chair), and the worm-eaten brain dismiss rising measles cases like it's all no biggie isn't just enough to make you sick --- It's enough to make you just projectile vomit.

He really doesn’t speak well. I am shocked anyone is “following” him. As he stumbles to get his ideas, plans, explanations out it is clear they aren’t following him, they are hungry for his money.

Absolutely. It’s unconscionable that this person would downplay a Ebola outbreak as if it were a stubbed toe and Mr. Wormbrain discounting a measles outbreak that is happening right here in the United States, to small children for goodness sake. He should be put up against a fence and shot. My anger, at age 70, has never been as pronounced and heightened as it has been in this past month and I knew it was gonna be bad. And now we are going to have countless Americans without Medicaid assistance and you know why they targeted these people, because if you go to the clinics (at least in Central Texas) where Medicaid people get help, they have brown and black skin. How do I know, as a white woman, because I had to have medical assistance at one point and I was just about the only white girl in the room.

Expand full comment

Beto can you get someone to come on to talk about the impact in vendors? If they are cancelling contracts are they paying termination fees or just stiffing the vendors? Since many targeted probably are veteran, woman or minority owned it's a further attack on minorities.

He needs to run in 2026, imo, he’s far too much of a leader for Texas to be sidelined long term for the state. Texans need him there, not just voter organizing for others- Blue bubble journalists are too dumb to adjust for state partisanship, period, Texas is a solid Red state that no Dem has won in 30+ years in for any office statewide and 40+ for President. O’Rourke can’t let those evil people keep him down there, he just can’t imo.

Prior to 2024, Dems were closing the gap. Biden lost TX by the smallest margin since Carter won TX (4.6% or so). Moreover, once these cuts really start hitting, we'll have a once in a generation opportunity to pick up a governing coalition, much like FDR did in the '30's. FDR *saved* the Panhandle & folks up here (including my family) voted D for 50 years. Beto, I've been trying to reach you in every way I can think of re; organizing up here.

tl;dr He just needs more white support, basically, that’s his struggle area consistently- nonwhite wise, he’s viewed more positively than Biden or Harris there right now for instance. If he runs and gets to 40% total, Reps are hosed if he can regain the >60% Hispanic and Asian and >90% Black support he had in 2018 there. Aka you need improvement in North Texas, where you are, which is Blood Red these days but it can be done with how toxic Trump is going to be in a second term imo. And yes, he needs to reach out to you, when he can asap.

Expand full comment

Well, more white support is common to all D's, imo. He needs to distance himself from the national party (27% approval) and build out the state party such that it reaches every corner of our enormous state.

Big obstacle is the extreme gerrymandering and the Guv/AG targeting voter drives, voter/candidate intimidation, and the like. EX gerrymandering: take a look at how the Panhandle is gerrymandered. It's ridiculous.

IMHO, he should take on Cornyn in '26 (weak numbers) then run for Prez in '28. In the meantime find someone to scale up the state party apparatus, get some go getters in there, offices everywhere, presence, recruit candidates for everything - while he starts his '26 bid, which should be done late last year.

Here's the deal: MAGA can't win without our 40 EV's so we should leap on this generational chance to take our state/country back.

BTW, I'm 6th generation Panhandle native & my great grandparents & grandparents raised me to be a New Dealer (parents Reagan R's), which I still claim as my political ID. I remember quite well when the D's lost TX for good. It broke my heart when Ann lost.

I agree with the former.

I would normally agree with you since Cornyn is weakest now of the Reps there, but Abbott will be on the ballot again so that monster will protect him like he did Paxton you see in 2022.

Yup, I definitely agree- W Bush was the worst thing to happen to your state, period, Richards' loss got him on the map for POTUS too.

(It's really sad when I'd take W over Trump, and I had NO love for him then-- but I hate the rehab MSM has done of that guy, Dubya and Cheney were the neocons who opened the door FOR Trump-- especially Cheney)

It's not so much Abbott per se, it's these 2 guys:

Re: W - I was so opposed to him when he was in office that I founded a fundraising PAC & raised around $400K in 9 months (thanks to Pearl Jam, they played a show for us) for D candidates.

Nowadays, I've let all that go cause it was a long time ago, in the Before Times. Our country is facing an existential threat so I'll welcome whoever wants to join the Anti-Fascist fight. Then again, I've been saying since 2017 that we've reached the point where traditional party names don't mean much, it's democracy v autocracy. You can only pick one.

He Needs to be our Next Governor in 2026.

Prior to 2022, yes, Biden dropped over 30 points in favorability in the state and Harris was a regression from his 2020 result severely (Abbott is not Trump, he’s way more popular than him there- and net Green, you would think on top line he did great in 2022 but he did worse then than in Blue Wave 2018 believe it or not and was not beatable by any Dem then give more than half the state liked the job he was doing sadly then). 2020 was down 3% from 2018, but up 4.4% from 2016. It’s 100% Beto, causing both those results, any Dem would’ve lost either race so he’s been cutting their margins down and saving his party from losses in 2022 in South (aka minority dominated) TX as well as why Dems picked up tons of seats in 2018 up top even in a narrow loss then.

Texas Holds the Key to Destroying the entire GOP. The Whole Party. It’s the Enemy Bunker. Flipping it Blue would be absolutely Cataclysmic for the Republicans. The DNC and DCCC NEEDS to listen to us.

Beto, it’s you they don’t want winning at the GOP above all strategically- not any other Democrat, you, in Texas imho.

You are the reason Cruz almost lost because your state actually generally approved of him then, and there are people who voted for Trump twice who voted for you in 2018. Also, you are the reason Abbott did worse in 2022 in spite of having a 55% approval rating then than he did in 2018 in spite of running in a Red year not a Blue one against him— your state is just deep Red so far, and no Dem has won in three decades plus now there, don’t doubt yourself.

Don’t let Abbott end you for good, don’t, they don’t want you on the ballot in Texas Former Congressman. Please think of running again in 2026, Talarico and the others need you to lead them out of the hellscape Abbott, Patrick and co have turned your state into imo.

Hello Mr. O'Rourke! I hope you are having a great Wednesday. I'm Zach Kahn, and I am a 17-year-old high schooler from Charlotte, North Carolina. I wrote an article regarding the problems with cutting Medicaid, and I would love for you to check it out if you are able to:

They’re gutting your future. The House just pushed a budget slashing Medicaid, SNAP, and housing—so billionaires get richer. Now, they’re ramming it through the Senate. The only way to stop them? A national strike. Read now—before it’s too late.

Would love your thoughts on the piece.

Abbott won mainly because since 1994, The DNC has shown that they don’t think Texas is worth all the Money and investment. Florida is Pure Fools Gold and it’s Time for them to let it go and Focus on the Heart of the GOP: Texas.

I've called all 6 of Cornyn's offices, they won't pick up & you can't leave a message. Same with Arrington & Cancun Cruz. So I've been emailing, which yielded 1 response from Cornyn that was a stale rehash of pro-DOGE talking points. Next? Dead tree letters that I'm going to try to get published as a Letter to the Editor.

When your state representative refuses to acknowledge your call or email, that is a sign to start looking to other candidate who cares about their constituents. Cruz shouldn't have been reelected back to office because of the heartless stunt he pulled while his family go on vacation. He left his state in the cold without any electricity. He needs to go. Do your state have any recourse (i.e., recall, removal) process? If so, use it.

I bet he voted for the elimination on Medicaid in his state. You can easily find out by going to www.congress.gov or use the search engine to see his voting record on how he stands on the basic needs of his constituents.

From the few pictures I saw of the meeting, the attendees looked miserable, especially Rubio and Vance. Similar to other Republicans like Mitch McConnell and Tom Emmer, it’s probably not much fun sitting in your front row seat watching the train wreck after selling your soul.

Is it possible that they have been assured that there will be no election, that they don't fear voters?

I was calling Elon, Ebola Elon. Maybe considering the outbreaks we are having it was a good nick name. I’ve always despised Bobby Kennedy who is nothing like his famous uncle JFK, or his father either. They both would be furious with him. For supporting right winged radicals who are Nazis, who do the heil Hitler salute in public with no shame! Bannon did his and smirked and looked a little hesitant so his wasn’t as radical looking as Elon’s! He looked stupid when he did his. Elon however wanted it to look like a strong passionate nazi salute. Bobby wants to send people on pain medication for serious excruciatingly painful conditions and anyone on antidepressants better find some to hide and squirrel away because Bobby wants to take away antidepressants and hates adderall too, and says anyone on “said” medication’s, that we all should be sent away to his organic farm camps that he would get paid for with our money to deny us medications we need and force us to do labor at a camp we would be forced to stay at for years! I won’t be going to any effing camp! I hate that guy so much. I hate the damage he is doing to our health care system! He’s full of conspiracy theories and he lies like all these horrible appointments were made so we must put up with their arrogance and selfishness. And their total lack of empathy for others! Kennedy is blaming people that get cancer and autoimmune diseases that it was somehow their fault! I cannot believe he’s blaming people that got cancer like me from breathing in toxic chemical waste after they had a chemical explosion that left us all at ground zero, and Mike Johnson the now speaker who was funded by Russians Konstatin Nikolaev https://www.newsweek.com/who-konstantin-nikolaev-money-mike-johnson-1870600. Johnson Is a Christian nationalist who supported and was architect of Jan 6 and who defended the violent unlawful actions and defended releasing them. He is a horrible little man who denied his own father who was a firemen that was burned in that chemical explosion in my city and he begged his son to get his political friends to clean up the 15 tons of waste and he refused him! He said he didn't raise him with those weird cultish religious beliefs, nor radical right winged politics. He wants the SAVE act passed that wouldn't allow married women to vote. When nick fuentes the radical right winged nazi lover and white nationalist says they have gone too far then you know they are nazis. https://youtu.be/cIIxnm7ixoY?si=b-dFGvfG1KQwuOBf

The most embarrassing “cabinet meeting”

A true stain on the presidency. Imagine opening the meeting with your rambling speech then turning to your largest donor, not even in the cabinet but definitely the most influential person there. He made inaccurate comments and various subjects including one about oops we made a mistake when we pulled our funding to fight Ebola. He then lied after making a joke in bad taste, he lied about the funding being restored…it hasn’t . Everyone in the room simply went along like mindless fools. Is this the type of Administration that the American people can look to to defend our country and our allies. NO! This administration is full of people who are loyal to one man and not their country. A sad day for America and the free world…a day for celebrating by nations like Russia, China, N.Korea and several others. They have been waiting for the U.S. to fail and I fear the time is approaching.

This wasn’t trumps first cabinet meeting.

It was a non elected, government appointed contractor who has no experience in public service and doesn’t even know and understands the laws and regulations of this great nation!!!

A person who has more access than our own president to our private information data and bank accounts!!!

As he stands over the entire room with the president even seated is appalling!!!

Pictures speak volumes and those who were in that meeting looked like 1st graders listening to their teacher!!!

They should be ashamed and embarrassed of themselves!!!

They are bowing down to a demigod and his prophet because of power and the greed of money.

It’s time for the Democrats to rise up and speak up for We The People!!!

The Taxpayers deserve better than this.

The president and his administration work for us We The People And Not just for their MAGA cult!!!

If the president doesn’t know this: someone with some backbone needs to tell him to get off is high horse and be a leader serving the people and not himself!!!

King David had the Prophet Nathan!!!

Wake up America Before We Lose Our Democracy And Freedoms. And find ourselves in a civil war!!!
